BS-MALL Premium Synthetic Kabuki Makeup Brush Set Review

Hey guys! My absolute FAVORITE thing about being a blogger is being able to tell fellow makeup addicts about great products when I find them. This is one of those times! Being new to Amazon Prime, a set of makeup brushes showed up in my recommended items. I didn't know if they would be worth anything but for the price, I couldn't resist trying them. I'm so glad I did.

The set retails for under $12 (with free shipping if you have Prime), and contains ten brushes. The type of brushes included in this set are angled, flat angled, flat, tapered, round, small flat angled, small round, small angled, small flat, small tapered. All brushes have their own purpose and the packaging contains a description of the brushes and uses, which is great for both beginners and seasoned makeup lovers alike. It is very similar to this image found on their Amazon listing:

As you can tell by my photo, I forgot to take a picture of the brushes before I used them. Oops. I was just too excited to use them. They are 100% worth the money. In fact, I believe they are the best brushes I've ever used, high end or otherwise, which is quite a steal at a little more than $1 per brush. So yeah, they definitely have my approval. Here is the link if you want to get them for yourself.

MOTD February 22

Hey fishies! I just got in a ColourPop order and couldn't resist playing in my new makeup. You guys give me a reason to get all dressed up on a Monday afternoon for no reason at all! lol.

Here are the shadows I used.

  • Sunset Blvd
  • Weenie
Sunset Blvd was recently released in the KaePop collection and is described as a "warm golden bronze in a pearlized finish." Weenie was released as part of the Kathleen Light's "Where the Night Is" collection and is a "pinky rose gold in a pearlized finish." While I feel Sunset Blvd is pretty accurately described, Weenie is a lot more on the pinky side than rose gold.

I also used ColourPop's blush in "Birthday Suit."

Here's the look

I hope you guys enjoyed the look and if you have any questions or requests feel free to comment below with them! :)

20,000 Favorites Giveaway

You guys...I am absolutely blown away by how good you are to me. Today I hit 20,000 views...and this blog has been active less than a year! I am so thankful to you all. 20,000 views may not seem like a big deal, but it means the world to me. I always wanted to be a writer, and I even when to college for it briefly-but life had other plans for me.

I don't talk about my personal life on here all that often, but this will explain how much this blog means to me. I am the mother of two princesses... my oldest daughter is autistic. My youngest was born very premature, at less than 2lbs, and has a form of asthma. My husband and I made the choice that I would be a stay at home Mom so I could be there for our girls whenever they needed us.

It has been an amazing life, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I adore my daughters and I love that I am at every appointment, performance, sick day...all of it. However, I miss writing. This blog has made another dream come true for me. I am still there for my girls all the time, and I get to write.

So for helping me make this dream come true (because without you, I'd just be a crazy lady talking to myself) I want to do something big to say THANK YOU. So what I want to do is give one of you a box full of my favorite things! The value will be about $30-$50 and it'll contain household items, cosmetics, sweets...lots of goodies :) Good luck to you all.

Here's how to enter!
1. Be a subscriber to this blog. (Fishies only please!)
2. Comment on this post with a number between 1-20,000.

And the winner is...

Email me at SamiFishBlog@yahoo.com to claim your prize! Please be timely as another winner will be chosen if I do not receive your mailing information by the date listed above :)

Also, I just wanted to mention there was someone who was closer to the number but the person did not follow the give away rules. Guys please always carefully read over the rules before you enter...I never ask anything unreasonable but I must insist you follow the guidelines to claim the prize! Congratulations again EVA STAMPER!

February Ipsy Review

February Ipsy Bag Review

  • Trust Fund Beauty nail polish "I'm kind of a big deal" [$15] FULL SIZE
Normally, I am not excited about nail polish, but this color is really pretty and very spring! [Use code Ipsy20 for 20% off any purchase]

  • Naked Cosmetics mica pigment "Sierra Nevada" [$10] PART OF A SET.
This is probably my favorite product I got this month. It's a really pretty shimmery bronze.. [Use code IPSY for 30% off]

  • Margaret Dabbs London mini crystal nail file [$17] FULL SIZE
I'll definitely use it, but it's nothing I'm ecstatic over getting. Plus $17 for a nail file? Wow.. [Use code Ipsy20 for 20% off]

  • Smashbox cosmetics photo finish primer oil [Appx $6] SAMPLE
Considering my skin type is oily, I'll probably stay away from this one. I don't really use primer and I don't like the idea of it being oil. [Use code Ipsy15 for 15% off your purchase]

  • Vintage sparking lipgloss "Pink sequin" [Appx $10] SAMPLE
I'm normally a fan of "Vintage" but this color is a little immature for me. My 8 year old will love it though! [Use code Ipsy30 for $30 off your purchase]

Total bag value: $61 (with $3 figured in for the bag, which is what they normally sell for.)

It was a pretty decent month. I got three products I will use, and two are full sized. Plus the bag was really cute this month!

Urban Body Jewelry review

Hey fishies! Happy Friday. Today I have a review of an awesome site I found for body jewelry that boasts over 800 styles to choose from called www.UrbanBodyJewelry.com . Their site has a really cool set up because you can look for body jewelry by size, type, or material. I exclusively wear silicone in my stretched ears for comfortability, and I love that I can search under "silicone plugs", and then click my gauge size and be shown only what fits me in the material I wear.

My order:

My first, of what will definitely be many orders consisted of 2 silicone plugs and 2 jeweled lip rings. My total was about $30, with free shipping. Urban Body Jewelry offers free shipping on orders over $20, and only $2 shipping otherwise. I made my order Saturday, it shipped on Monday, and arrived on Thursday. You can't ask for much better.

I have been wearing the Cupcake silicone plugs and Jeweled stainless steel lip ring for about 24 hours now and they are very comfortable and great quality, at about half the price I normally pay locally for my body jewelry. If you are pierced, I definitely recommend that you check it out!

As if the above information wasn't persuasion enough, I have a discount code for you! Use code SAMMI10 with your order to get 10% off! (And don't forget, free shipping with orders $20 or more) Come back and let me know what you ordered! I'd love to see what goodies you pick up.

MWAB review and big changes

Hey fishies! As I'm sure you've noticed by now, things have been changing around here. This month both of my littles will be in school (head start and 2nd grade), so I've had more time to focus on the blog and make it what I've been envisioning it would be. If you are my friend on Facebook, you know two weeks ago I dropped the "cupcake." This week I purchased my own domain, and we have moved to:

www.SamiFish.com

Tell your friends! But anyways...let's get down to business! Today I got in my order from Fortune Cookie Soap from their "Man With A Box" (Dr. Who) collection.

"Don't Blink" body wash. (leather, vanilla, and resins) I love this one, just like I knew I would. I adore anything they come out with that has leather or caramel in it. It could easily be a unisex fragrance as well.

"Fish fingers & Custard" whipped cream. (Cake batter, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar) This smells so good I want to eat it! They really nailed the cake batter smell on the head. I bake quite often and it smells just like uncooked cake batter.

"The Last of the TimeLords" bar soap. (Salty ozone, citrus, florals, and mint) All the scents really blend together beautifully in this one. I can smell each of the notes but none of them more so than the others. If I'm being honest though, this one will never get used. I ordered it to display!

"The Silence" mist me. (Peaches, mandarin, caramel, honey, rose, and jasmine)  I ordered this one by mistake, as a lot of the FCS peach smells trigger my migraines, but this smells UHMAZING. The citrus smell is definitely laid back in the fragrance and it smells very spring...very expensive...very very good!

That's all I have for you today, guys! This collection is currently sold out but we have been told their will be a restock!  Allons-y!

Valentine ColourPop Giveaway

Hey fishies! I've been wanting to do a ColourPop give away for awhile, and what better time to do it than the month of love! I've chosen a couple of ColourPop products that are sure to make your Valentines night out one to remember.

The ColourPop prize pack includes:

1. Succulent ultra matte lip

My personal favorite lippie formula ColourPop has to offer, because it is kiss proof! And what better shade to wear on the day of love than this beautiful red.

2. Puppy Love shadow

I chose this one not only because it's name is so appropriate for Valentines day, but also because this soft peach shade with a duo chrome pearlized finish will be flattering on all skin colors. And the icing on the top? All proceeds from the sales of this shade are donated to the Best Friends Animal Society.

So you're all pumped up and ready to win, right?? Here's how:

1. Share the photo below on your Facebook page and tag 5 friends you think would be interested in this give away.

2. If you aren't already, hit that "follow" button on the right hand side of the page to become a subscriber!
3. Comment on this post with your first and last name so you can be entered in the drawing.

Winner chosen Wednesday, February 10th! Please note-I will ask for proof that you shared the image, so please don't comment for entry unless you have done all the required steps for the contest.

Thank you guys, and good luck!

UPDATED TO ADD WINNER

Congratulations to Stephanie Deitrick, winner of the ColourPop Valentines give away!

After several attempts at trying to contact Stephanie, I drew another name and the winner is Nicole Phelan. Congratulations!

Fortune Cookie Soap Spring 2016 Soap Box

Fortune Cookie Soap

Let It Grow Spring 2016

The time has come to review what is absolutely my favorite subscription ever-FORTUNE COOKIE SOAP BOX! The one we'll be reviewing today is Spring 2016, themed "Let It Grow."  This subscription box retails for $19.99, shipping included, and comes with a $10 gift code. Unlike monthly subscription boxes, this one is sent out seasonally, and includes between 8-10 sample products that will be featured in their launch.

Guardian of the Forest-Fortune Cookie Soap (Spring flowers, fresh cut lemons)
I mostly get the flowers from this scent, but there is definitely notes of lemon floating around in the mix. I'm usually not much for florals, but this smell encompasses all that is spring. A very dainty, spring like smell that will be amazing in a "mist me" or perfume oil.

This Thing?-OCD Hand Sanitizer (Orange, vanilla, citrusy-lemon, and delicate florals)
I was prepared to hate this one but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Like if you combined an orange creamsicle with the tiniest hint of floral. SO GOOD.

Disco Tree-Whipped Cream (Berries, lily of the valley, sandlewood)
Heavy on the berry, and freshness. I think this scent will be one of the fan favorites.

Unless...Pedi-Bomb (Spring water, algae, hyacinths, water lillies, dirt, oakmoss, earthy woods, and resins)
Another one of my favorites- it is a fresh unisex fragrance that is just to die for. I can't wait to order it in ALL THE THINGS.

Oh Hair-Shampoo Bar (Peach nectar, grapefruit, thyme)
This is the only scent in the box that I feel is not for me, which is a bummer because it was my favorite product offered in the box. It's very heavy on the peach, so much so that it made my head hurt. If anyone is a fan of peach scents, you will love this one.

One C-Cuticle Oil (Warm woods, patchouli, creamy vanilla)
I'm a sucker for the woodsy smell and patchouli. Vanilla is the dominant smell, but in my opinion, this is a perfect blend. (Definitely getting this in a linen spray!)

Paradise Found-Petal Perfume (Freesia, rose, mango, strawberry, tonka bean, amber)
For me, the mango was the strongest note in this scent, but it settles nicely into a sweet spring fragrance.

In-Organic-Shower Steamer (Lemons, parsley)
I just get parsley from this one with a tiny, tiny hint of lemon. Hey herb lovers, here's looking at you.

If you subscribe to this box, comment and tell me which scent was your favorite! This Thing? (hand sanitizer) and Unless... (pedi-bomb) are the two scents I catch myself smelling over and over.

These soap boxes usually sell out quickly, as Fortune Cookie Soap is such a fast growing business; however if any of those scents sound like something you would enjoy, visit their website-FortuneCookieSoap.com on Friday, February 19th at 6pm CST for the launch of this collection.
